It’s been a big 12 months for WordCamping in the UK. For years we only had our nomadic summer get-together to look forward to. But as London demonstrated last autumn, and Sheffield confirmed a couple of months back, it’s time for the UK WordPress community to move to the next level.

And if any city in the UK can justify having its own WordCamp, surely it’s Manchester? A city with so much to answer for.

It defined the industrial revolution. It shaped the sounds of the 1970s, 80s and 90s. It gave birth to modern computing. And one Saturday night in January 2003, it was where WordPress was born – or certainly conceived, anyway.

So at Code For The People, we’re proud to support WordCamp’s return to Manchester.

There’s no better place than a WordCamp to meet new people, and expose yourself to new ideas and techniques. Nearly all of our strongest and most fruitful relationships started with a meeting at a WordCamp. And we always come away with fresh inspiration and enthusiasm.

WordCamps are also about giving back. CFTP’s Simon Wheatley will be leading a session on development environments, sharing what we’ve learned about Vagrant, Composer and other such technologies. And you’ll see most of our team at Sunday’s contributor day too.
