Hello, bonjour, ہیلو, hola, witam, مرحبًا, ciao!
WordPress is used all over the world, and in many different languages – 208 to be exact.
How can I translate WordPress?
You can contribute to WordPress by translating your favourite plugins and themes into your language.
At WordCamp Manchester 2026, we’ll have an informal Polyglots table set up where you can drop in and learn how to contribute to the localisation of WordPress. Don’t worry if you’ve never contributed translations before; we’ll have volunteers on hand to show you the ropes.
You can also prepare early by having a quick read of the official translation guide over on the Polyglots site.
Any user that has at least one submitted translation approved will receive the “Translation Contributor” badge on their WordPress.org profile.

I only speak English – can I still help?
Yes!
The default language for WordPress is US English. The UK has its own language (locale), so you can still contribute by translating US English spellings into UK English.
Join the translation event
If you’re interested, you can join the translation event using the button below. You can do this ahead of time or on the day.
The translation event will record all of your contributions on the day of WordCamp Manchester 2026 and produce a report of the entire group’s efforts.
